Galway manager Kevin Walsh has revealed that Shane Walsh will not be fit for the All-Ireland SFC qualifier clash against Armagh.

Walsh suffered a hand injury in a car accident and will not be able to take his place against Orchard County, having already missed the Connacht final defeat to Mayo.

The Galway manager told the Connacht Tribune that they would have to plan without the Kilkerrin-Clonberne forward for another few weeks.

"It will be at least another three or four weeks before Shane is back - he is a big loss to us but at this stage it appears as if everyone else is okay," said the former All-Ireland winner.

"The biggest challenge for all teams in the qualifiers is to recreate the will, the desire and motivation that's there automatically for the earlier championship matches."
