Derry duo out

Derry will be without wing backs Ciaran McFaul and Kevin Johnston for their SF Qualifier against Wexford on July 11th.

McFaul sustained a broken hand during Saturday night's Ulster SFC semi-final against Donegal, while Johnston picked up a knee injury that could spell the end of his season.

Amazingly, despite being hurt early on, Watty Grahams clubman McFaul played on until he was later forced out of the fray with a black card. Manager Brian McIver was unhappy with the challenge that took Dungiven ace Johnston out of the game:

"Ciaran is definitely out, his hand is in a cast," he confirms in The Irish News. "Kevin Johnston is having an MRI scan - he got hurt in a tackle that we didn't even get a free for."
