Devenney: Tyrone statement is a joke

Tyrone's response to accusations that one of their minor footballers taunted a Donegal opponent over the death of his father has been blasted by Brendan Devenney.

The former Donegal forward made the allegation following last Sunday's Ulster MFC clash in Ballybofey and Donegal manager Declan Bonner subsequently highlighted the incident in a weekly newspaper column.

Last night the Tyrone County Board issued a statement in which they strongly refuted the claims but, in a post on his Facebook page today, Devenney responded to the statement as well as comments made by former Red Hand players in recent days.

"It has nothing to do with all the great people in Tyrone and Donegal that play and go to games," Devenney writes.

"This has to do with morals and respect."
