A life-size bronze statue of the late, great Páidí Ó Sé will be unveiled on Saturday week outside the Ó Sé family's pub in Ventry.

The unveiling will be attended by many well-known GAA personalities and friends of the Kerry football legend , who died suddenly in December 2012 at the age of 57.

The statue has been crafted by the Clare sculptor Seamus Connolly whose work also includes statutes of the playwright John B Keane in Listowel and hurling icon Mick Mackey in Limerick. A plaque detailing the achievements of eight-time All-Ireland winner Páidí will be erected beside the statue.

The statue will be kept under wraps until the formal ceremony.
