Cork manager Jimmy Barry Murphy is adamant that their convincing win over Dublin in an earlier round of the NHL will count for nothing on Sunday.

The sides clash at Nowlan Park in the NHL Division One semi-final as part of an attractive double head as Tipperary and Waterford go head to head beforehand.

When Cork and Dublin clash at Croke Park in round three, the Rebels recorded an emphatic 0-34 to 1-20 win over the Dubs.

Nonetheless, Barry Murphy has played down the significance of that win and stressed that type of result can happen on any given day to any county.

"That can happen to any team in this league," he told The Corkman. "It is so competitive and we certainly weren't happy with our performance against Kilkenny in the opening round.

"We improved a lot for the next game against Clare, but what we want now is to be a bit more consistent."
