Written by Gabriel O'Keefe on our Facebook page:

"As a player, Pat won 5 SFC in Tyrone with his native Trillick and a Fermanagh SFC with Lisnaskea, won an Ulster title in 1973 and captained Tyrone to an Ulster final in 1980. He represented Ulster with distinction in the Railway Cup and collected a winners medal. As a manager, he won 2 Fermanagh SFC with Lisnaskea and several leagues in what was one of their most successful ever periods. He managed Fermanagh to a McKenna Cup title and an All Ireland B title and raised the bar for the teams that followed. These were just some of his GAA achievements. His legacy is firstly his three sons and grandchildren but also the many of all abilities whose love of sport in general and GAA in particular he nurtured as a PE teacher and underage coach in Roslea, Lisnaskea and beyond. Many of the names we now see in Fermanagh as coaches, managers and administrators are past pupils or players of Pat's who were led, encouraged and inspired by Pat and those like him. That's how I'll remember him in a GAA sense. I also had the pleasure of seeing him with his grandchildren by whom he'll be sorely missed. Barry, Shane and Ronan and the King family can be rightly proud of Pat. Ni bheith a leithid ann aris."

Pat was buried this morning (Wednesday, April 15) in his adopted Lisnaskea. May he rest in peace.
