Hawk-Eye will be operational in Semple Stadium in time for this summer's championship matches there.

The Thurles venue is set to stage the Munster SHC opener between Clare and Limerick on May 24th and will also host the football quarter-final between Tipperary and Waterford seven days later.

Semple Stadium has also been confirmed as the venue for the Munster hurling semi-final between Cork and Waterford on June 7th, so the score verification technology could have a busy first three weekends.

It was agreed at Congress last year that Hawk-Eye could be rolled out to other major venues outside Croke Park and Thurles is the first one to have the pioneering technology installed. A feasibility study has been completed and the system will be in place within a couple of months.
