Kerry are very much in the frame for a semi-final spot following today's two point victory over Donegal but Johnny Buckley isn't looking too far ahead just yet.

The Kingdom responded in positive fashion to last weekend's embarrassing defeat to Munster rivals Cork to record a third win of the campaign and, speaking to GAA Beo, 'man-of-the-match' Buckley outlined what the victory meant to him and his team-mates.

"We put a big focus on it after the game in Cork the last day.

"We were obviously very disappointed for the second year in a row playing against them in the National League.

"We had a bit of get-together up in Cork before we hit the road back down here and there was a huge emphasis put on today, to get a good performance in and hopefully get the win and thankfully we did that."

An improved Division 1 showing was mapped out as one of the Sam Maguire Cup holders' objectives at the start of the year according to Buckley.

"When we sat down at the start of this year we put a big emphasis on the league because as everyone knows we haven't had a good start to the league in the last couple of years.

"We're top but it's still very close so we'll see how things go."
