Offaly's fate in their hands

Offaly manager Pat Flanagan

Offaly manager Pat Flanagan admits that it is up to them to push on and secure promotion following their impressive start to the NFL Division Four campaign.

Three wins out of three has left the Faithful County sitting on top of the division and they are odds on to gain promotion at this stage.

Flanagan acknowledges the fact that there is still plenty of work to do, but states in the Midland Tribune that their destiny is in their hands.

Offaly take on Leitrim this weekend and the former Westmeath and Sligo manager is adamant that they won't be taking any team for granted.

"We have put ourselves in an excellent position. We have to give ourselves the best opportunity in the next two games. Hopefully fellas will be guarded and work as hard as they did last Sunday," said Flanagan.

"I felt we needed to get out of Division Four. We are in a great position. We have won two away matches and have three home games left but Leitrim had seven points after their first four matches last year and didn't qualify. Nothing is done and dusted yet. Hopefully, we will maintain our improvement and push on."
