Christy Toye admits Donegal has to roll up their sleeves when Michael Murphy saw red on Sunday.

The 2012 All-Ireland winning captain was sent off after receiving a second yellow card twenty minutes from the end of the Round Three Division One clash with Cork at Ballyshannon, but the dogged hosts held on for a one-point win.

"Michael Murphy brings an enormous contribution to the team on the pitch and when he went off not only were we a man down but we were also without a man that has such a big influence when he is on the field," Toye told The Irish News.

"It was obviously tough without Michael on a heavy pitch, but I thought we hung on very well for victory and it was a good two points.

"Overall, it was good to get a win and it is a good start to the season. We have four points from three games. We have won both our home games and that leaves us in a good position."
