Barry Kelly will this weekend take charge of a Kilkenny game for the first time since September's drawn All-Ireland SHC final.

The Westmeath man has been  named to officiate over the Cats' Division 1A clash with Galway in Pearse Stadium on Sunday.

The day after the Black & Amber had won the replay, Cody branded Kelly's decision to award a last-gasp free to Tipperary in the drawn 2014 All-Ireland decider as "criminal". He had a two-month suspension proposed for his outburst, but this was thrown out by the Central Hearings Committee.

The All-Ireland winning manager was warned about his future conduct when talking to the media and a new punishment was subsequetly introduced whereby members of backroom teams would be hit with sideline bans for criticising referees.

Tipperary football manager Peter Creedon was the first intercounty manager to fall foul of this new sanction, sitting out Sunday's Division Three clash with Fermanagh in Enniskillen over his comments relating to David Coldrick's handling of the Premier County's first-round clash with Armagh.
