Monaghan's Conor McManus is a doubt for Sunday's Division One trip to Letterkenny.

The All Star attacker has started just one of the Farney County's three league games so far this year and sat out Sunday's heavy defeat to Mayo in Castlebar despite having been named to start on the match programme.

The Clontibret clubman, who notched nine points against Cork at Castleblayney but only made a late cameo appearance in the opening-round win over Tyrone in Omagh, is struggling with a hip problem and seems unlikely to feature in this weekend's Ulster final rematch:

"It's just the hip injury and trying to get it right. I suppose I came back too early in the Cork game, and maybe set myself back a bit," he says in The Irish Independent.

"I'm trying to get it straightened out and hopefully it's nothing major. It has hindered me. I haven't done anything since the Cork game training wise, so it's just a matter of getting on with it.

"There seems to be small steps going forward, but it's the kind of thing you want to get right and to have right for the rest of the year, rather than coming back, being out for two or three weeks, and then playing another game.

"It's a case of getting it right and hopefully from there on in, it'll be plain sailing for the rest of the year,"
