University of Limerick were last night considering to lodge an appeal against Jack Browne's red card in yesterday's Fitzgibbon Cup semi-final against Limerick IT.

Browne was shown a red card in the second-half following an off-the-ball incident with Paul Killeen and, afterwards, manager Brian Lohan recalled when Mary I's Declan Hannon was cleared to play against UCC in the 2013 decider after he was red-carded in the semi-final.

UL will bid to dethrone Waterford IT in the final this evening and Clare great Lohan told The Irish Independent: "I was up at that (2013) match as well and in fairness to Declan Hannon, it was no more a sending off.

"What's going to happen this time? I don't know."
