Team news: Four league newcomers for Royals

January 31, 2015

Meath's Adam Flanagan

Conor McGill, Harry Rooney, Adam Flanagan and Joey Wallace will make their league debuts for Meath in tomorrow's Division 2 clash against Galway in Pearse Stadium.

Ratoath's McGill will wear the number three jersey in the absence of the injured Kevin Reilly while Rooney (Skryne) and Flanagan (Clonard) form a new-look midfield partnership having caught the eye in the O'Byrne Cup.

Flanagan featured in last year's championship campaign along with Joey Wallace who is named at top of the left.

Elsewhere, Padraic Harnan (right half-back) and Bryan McMahon (left corner-forward) return to the Royal starting 15 after missing the subsidiary competition due to college commitments.

The Royals will be hoping to repeat the high-scoring 3-18 to 4-11 round one victory they enjoyed over the Tribesmen in the corresponding fixture 12 months ago.

Meath (FL Division 2 v Galway) - Paddy O'Rourke; Donnacha Tobin, Conor McGill, Mickey Burke; Padraic Harnan, Donal Keogan (capt), Bryan Menton; Harry Rooney, Adam Flanagan; Graham Reilly, Stephen Bray, Andrew Tormey; Bryan McMahon, Michael Newman, Joey Wallace.
