UCC romped to a facile 3-15 to 1-6 victory over Cork IT in the Sigerson Cup at the Mardyke this afternoon.

Cork IT got off to an encouraging start when John Corkery found the net in the tenth minute but that score only served to rile the hosts and competition favourites, who replied with points from Kerry's Paul Geaney and Luke Connolly of Nemo Rangers followed by a goal from Kerry U21 star Tom Hickey.

Legion's Shaun Keane fisted the winners' second major five minutes from the break and that helped push his side into a 2-8 to 1-3 interval advantage.

A third goal from Conor Dorman shortly after the restart ensured that there would be no fightback.

In today's other Sigerson Cup match,  NUIG enjoyed a 0-17 to 1-4 victory over Blanchardstown IT at Dangan, having led by 0-9 to 0-3 at the break.
