A hurling fan from Thomastown in Co. Kilkenny has joining thousands of social media users in paying tribute to the late Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes.
The 25-year-old batsman died in hospital yesterday, two days after being struck on the neck by a ball during a match in Sydney. People across the world have been paying their respects on twitter by putting out their bats, but Brendan Maher decided to put out his hurls instead.
