"Out of the frying pan into the fire" for Clontibret

Clontibret manager Dominic Corrigan

Clontibret manager Dominic Corrigan accepts that things aren't about to get any easier for the Monaghan champions.

The O'Neills stunned Down kingpins Kilcoo in the preliminary round of the Ulster club football championship on Sunday and their reward is a provincial quarter-final clash with Belfast giants St Gall's in Clones on November 2nd.

"It's out of the frying pan into the fire because St Gall's are a quality, very experienced Ulster club side," Corrigan comments in The Irish News.

"They're going to present us with a hugh challenge.

"Everybody had us written off but we came up to Newry with our own script and thankfully that worked out."

Regarding 2013 All Star Conor McManus' amazing scoring exploits against Kilcoo, the Fermanagh man added: "Conor is a top quality player and he keeps doing that. It's a mark of real quality that he can keep doing it and let's hope there's another couple in him."
