Michael Grace was on target with a late free to earn Rower-Inistioge a draw against 14-man Carrickshock in the first of today's two Kilkenny SHC quarter-finals at Thomastown.

Backed by a strong wind, Rower-Inistioge enjoyed the better of the first-half exchanges and went in at the break with a 0-7 to 0-4 advantage.

But, despite having Kilkenny star Richie Power dismissed with five minutes to go on the clock for a second yellow card offence, last year's defeated finalists Carrickshock produced a late run to take the lead through Jamie Power only to be pegged back by Grace's late equaliser.

The sides finished level on 0-12 apiece.
