Clare's Colm Galvin has been named the Bord Gais Energy U21 Hurler of the Year.

The All-Ireland winning senior and U21 midfielder received the accolade for his outstanding contribution to the Banner's third successive All-Ireland U21 triumph this year.

New Dublin manager and adjudicator Ger Cunningham said at last night's televised event in Croke Park: "Colm was immense all season for Clare on their march to a third successive All-Ireland title.

"His displays were of a consistently high level throughout and he was often the 'go to' man when Clare needed him most."

The U21 'B' Hurler of the Year is Kildare's Gerry Keegan who produced a man of the match display in the final against Roscommon.

Wexford full forward Conor McDonald won Score of the Year, which was voted for by the public, for his stunning goal in the Leinster final win over Dublin.

The 2014 Bord Gáis Energy U21 Hurling Team of the Year was announced during the week and featured seven players from Clare and five from All-Ireland runners-up Wexford.
