Cody: Cats have no advantage

Brian Cody says the fact that Kilkenny were involved in an All-Ireland final replay two years ago doesn't give them an advantage on Saturday week.

The Black & Amber defeated Galway at the second attempt in 2012 and the September 27th clash with Tipperary will be the third successive All-Ireland SHC final replay (after Clare and Cork also drew last year).

"We have no advantage going into the replay," the Cats boss states in The Kilkenny People. "This is a whole new game.

"It will take on a life of its own. Having gone through a replay before makes no difference.

"No one knows how the game might go. We won't be reviewing what we did two years ago for this replay against Tipperary.

"All I know is that it is going to be another tough and close encounter. There has been nothing between Kilkenny and Tipperary in big matches in recent years.

"Once the ball is thrown in, the game could go either way."
