Tipp great John Leahy hopes top scorer Seamus Callanan can prove his doubters wrong in this Sunday's All-Ireland SHC final showdown.

The Drom-Inch clubman will new acquaintances with JJ Delaney who had the measure of him in this year's league final and Leahy said to the Irish Daily Star: "He didn't perform against Limerick but he's after performing the last three or four games so he's getting another opportunity within the year to get rid of his doubters really because there's people unsure of him.

"Hopefully Seamus can produce that as an individual, because if he doesn't he might be remembered as the player that never really performed on the big day.

"The fact that he's on the frees has given him more responsibility. But JJ will be a different kettle of fish altogether."
