Rory Kavanagh compared Ryan McHugh to a Duracell bunny after his man of the match display against Dublin.

The Kilcar youngster's high-energy performance yielded 2-2, prompting his Donegal team-mate Kavanagh to remark: "He has so much energy. He is like a wee Duracell bunny going up and down the pitch.

"He was fantastic getting on the end of those moves. He was really great."

Kavanagh said Donegal were confident they could upset the odds if they could keep it tight against a Dublin team that hadn't been previously tested this season.

"We knew that Dublin had never been down the stretch," he noted.

"They had been pummelling teams all year round. We felt if we could with them, and force them into a game where they were chasing it, then they would become uncomfortable and that's how it turned out."
