The closing date for nominations for the Galway senior football manager's post is next Friday, September 5.

Alan Mulholland vacated the role last week after three years at the helm. Former midfield general and Sligo manager Kevin Walsh has been installed as odds-on favourite by local bookmaker John Mulholland to take over the reins, with last year's All-Ireland U21 winning manager Alan Flynn, former players Paul Clancy, Padraic and Tommie Joyce, ex-Cork manager Billy Morgan, Corofin manager Dave Morris, ex-Donegal assistant manager Rory Gallagher and former Mayo star and TV pundit Kevin McStay also in the mix.

Friday is also the closing date for nominations to be submitted for the position of minor manager following former All-Ireland winning forward John Donnellan's departure from the role.
