Fennelly available to Cats

Kilkenny's Michael Fennelly. INPHO
Michael Fennelly will be available for Kilkenny's All-Ireland SHC semi-final meeting with Limerick in nine days' time.

The former Hurler of the Year featured in the Black & Amber's championship opener against Offaly but sat out the remainder of their successful provincial campaign as the Noresiders regained the Leinster title with further wins over Galway - after a replay - and Dublin.

He had been dogged by a mystery back problem, which was refusing to respond to treatment and was rated as a major doubt for the Croke Park clash with the Treaty County.

However, the Ballyhale Shamrocks ace has now returned to full training and is in contention to feature in the Cats' All-Ireland campaign.

Manager Brian Cody says he won't make any decision regarding Fennelly's participation in the upcoming match until next week but confirmed that "he's had a good run for the past couple of weeks now so we'll see how it goes."
