Sligo forward Stephen Coen is looking forward to next year's campaign already.

Coen, who scored Sligo's first goal in eight championship matches, stressed to the Sligo Champion that there were plenty of positives to take from the year.

Sligo's campaign came to an end at the last 12 stage when Cork defeated them at O'Connor Park, Tullamore last Saturday evening after they had put together back to back victories over Wicklow and Limerick in the qualifiers.

"It was an experience," said Coen. We normally don't get that far to be honest. The last time we were in Round 4 Qualifiers we didn't do ourselves justice.

"At times we could have won the game, but we could have left it behind us as well. It is a good foundation for next year. It's good to see the young fellows coming through." Tweet
