Pearce Hanley celebrates for Brisbane Lions
Mayo's Pearce Hanley produced the best performance of his Aussie Rules career to date on Saturday night in the Brisbane Lions' surprise 110-56 win over Gold Coast at the Gabba.

The Ballaghaderreen man, whose younger brother Cian will line out for the Mayo minors against Armagh in Sunday's All-Ireland quarter-final at Croke Park, was voted 'Player of the Round' for the second time in a matter of weeks after finishing with 45 disposals, nine clearances, 11 inside 50 entries, two goals and three goal assists.

"To do what we did today was fantastic," Hanley is quoted in the Irish Daily Mirror.

"We worked hard all week so it's pleasing to get our reward. I didn't realise that I had covered more metres than anyone else in the game until I was told afterwards - it's pleasing but it was a team effort."
