Cian Lynch has spoken of his desire to bring the Irish Press Cup back to Limerick after captaining the county to back-to-back Munster MHC titles on Tuesday night.

A Hawk-Eye malfunction in the early stages of the Treaty County's All-Ireland semi-final against Galway last year derailed their All-Ireland ambitions, but Lynch insists that incident won't be used as motivation when they return to Croke Park next month.

"Last year we felt we were hard done by in the All-Ireland semi-final. Hopefully we can go on a step further this year," the Patrickswell youngster told the Limerick Leader website.

"There is a feeling of 'unfinished business' in the squad after losing in the All-Ireland semi-final to Galway 12 months ago.

"We won't let what happened with Hawk-Eye last year be our motivation. We are going out to play the semi-final as if nothing happened last year. We are starting a new chapter, looking to play as well as we can.

"We have to go a step further. We won't sit on our laurels after tonight. We will enjoy this and cherish it because it (a Munster MHC two-in-a-row) was never done in Limerick before. We will go out back training in the new few days and hopefully kick on from here.

"It would be brilliant if the seniors can get to the All-Ireland semi-final this weekend too. It happened last year and would be brilliant for the development of Limerick hurling."
