Dublin forward Eoghan O'Gara is in the clear after the GAA decided there 'insufficient evidence' to back up Meath's allegation that he bit Mickey Burke during last Sunday's Leinster SFC final.

The CCCC informed Dublin and Meath County Boards yesterday that O'Gara does not have a case to answer.

The Royals were formally contacted about the incident on Monday morning after manager Mick O'Dowd had brought it to light.

"We discussed the situation on Monday night and sent in our submission to Croke Park this morning (Tuesday)," secretary Francis Flynn revealed to the Examiner.

"The matter was then dealt with by the CCCC in Dublin and we were informed that due to insufficient evidence there will be no charges brought against any players.

"That would be the end of it now, as far as we're concerned."

It is understood that Burke - who was introduced as a second-half substitute by the Royals - was reluctant to pursue the matter any further.

Dublin County Board chairman Andy Kettle, meanwhile, said the issue "is done and over with" and refused to make any further comment.
