Mickey Harte has drafted minor sensation Conor McKenna into the Tyrone senior football squad for the remainder of the championship.
Lining out at full forward, the Eglish teenager kicked four points on Saturday as the Red Hands exited the Ulster MFC at the hands of neighbours Monaghan. He was captain of that minor side.
With the dust barely settled on that campaign - his third as a county minor - McKenna quickly became the latest minor to be called up for senior intercounty duty as he was yesterday summoned by senior management ahead of Saturday's Qualifier clash with Louth in Omagh.
A member of the Tyrone side that reached last year's All-Ireland MFC final, McKenna has been targeted by a number of AFL clubs and is the third member of his family to join the current O'Neill County senior set-up, following brothers Emmett and Ryan into the fold.
Described by long-serving Tyrone boss Harte as "one of the best players to come on the scene in a generation", McKenna would have been part of the senior panel earlier but for his minor commitments.
