Joe Canning has been kept in reserve for tomorrow's HL Division 1 semi-final against Kilkenny.

The Portumna ace came off the bench in the quarter-final win over Limerick and was expected to lead the Tribesmen into battle but manager Anthony Cunningham has other ideas.

Canning's club-mate Andy Smith has been included at left half-forward replacing injured corner-back Fergal Moore.

David Burke reverts to midfield in the reshuffle with Johnny Coen taking over from Moore in the full-back line.

Galway supporters will be relieved to hear that Iarla Tannian and Niall Healy have both overcome hamstring injuries to line up against the Cats.

Galway (HL v Kilkenny) - C Callanan; J Coen, R Burke, D Collins; A Harte, I Tannian, Daithi Burke; David Burke, P Brehony; N Burke, C Cooney, A Smith; N Healy, J Glynn, C Mannion.
