The Fulham Irish GAA club are up in arms over the London County Board's decision to reverse a decision to grant them a weekend off and then throw them out of a competition.
The club were due to play Round Towers in the Tipperary Cup semi final last Sunday, but Fulham requested that the game be postponed as they had a team holiday booked.
The request was granted, but then last week the fixture was rescheduled by the London CCC and when Fulham Irish failed to field, the match was awarded to Round Towers.
Fulham Irish treasurer John Doyle told the Irish Post that the fixtures were in disarray as there were many walkovers being granted. He also revealed that the club's request had been granted as far back as February 17th.
"They put it on the website that we conceded and we then replied to everybody on the fixtures that we had not conceded," said Doyle.
"The guys booked their trip and off they went but when these fixtures came out last week we emailed and said 'you've obviously forgotten our exemption'.
"There was no response from John Molloy and then our secretary phoned him last Wednesday and he said our exemption wasn't granted. We said that the rules are the rules and you can't not grant it after granting it weeks before."
