Pearce Hanley celebrates for Brisbane Lions
Mayo's Pearce Hanley has penned a five year deal with the Brisbane Lions.
The news will be welcome by Brisbane fans after a tumultuous week that saw them part company with club legend Michael Voss as coach.
The Irish import is favourite for Brisbane's best-and-fairest award.
The club has yet to formally announce the deal but the 24 year old confirmed to the The Courier Mail: "It was just a matter of getting the right contract.
"There was no rush, I wasn't going anywhere.
"It's just a coincidence that I'm signing this week after all that has happened at the club with Vossy.
"I love the club. We are a tight playing group, a really united playing group.
"I'm delighted that I'm staying."
