Louth manager Peter Fitzpatrick
Louth manager Peter Fitzpatrick admits he is powerless to prevent the loss of some key men.

With four high-profile Wee County players - Brian White, John O'Brien, Shane Lennon and Mick Fanning - being strongly linked with impending trips abroad in search of employment, the Reds boss has resigned himself to the gravity of the situation, accepting that work and career prospects must come first:

"I cannot stop them going and I cannot ask them not to go. The news is a big blow to us.

"They are four big lads, great players for us, and they are not easily replaced.

"I have been looking at the [club] championship games and there are not many others around that we have not got in the panel.

"Not many people are standing out, except for the lads who played county football this year.

"That's the way it goes, I suppose, but I cannot stop these lads going away. They will be a massive loss to us if they go."
