Best is yet to come, says Vaughan

Dublin's Mark Vaughan
Mark Vaughan believes Kilmacud Crokes are capable of moving up another gear in Sunday week's Leinster club football final against Rhode. The Dublin champions brushed aside the challenge of Navan O'Mahony's last Sunday to set up a final date with the Offaly kingpins, who they defeated after a semi-final replay three years ago. "I think there is a lot more to come," said the Crokes and Dublin sharpshooter. "You look at the likes of (Brian) Kavanagh - he played well for 15 minutes and showed what he can do. "It is frightening to think what he could do in 60 minutes. He probably showed it against Dublin in the O'Byrne Cup (for Longford) earlier this year. "You look at the players like that and even (Mark) Davoren, he got the goal but probably didn't have his best game for us. So there is plenty more to come from this team. "The games against St. Oliver Plunkett's, I thought we actually maybe played better (than against Navan O'Mahony's), because Plunkett's were outstanding. It just showed what we can do even when the chips are down to hold them off and get the victory." Vaughan is expecting a massive test from Rhode, who crushed former Leinster kingpins Eire Og last weekend. "We played them before in Leinster and they showed what they could do. They were a much younger team then. They are a lot older, a lot more experienced now. "They have a strong winning mentality - we lost the last two championships, while they have been in Leinster more years than not, so I think that is an advantage to them."
