St Brigid's into provincial last four
November 20, 2008
St Brigid's 1-8
St Kevin's 0-6
St Brigid's took their place in the semi-finals of the Leinster Club Intermediate Football Championship with a five-point victory over St Kevin's of Kildare after extra-time last Sunday.
The two sides played out a mundane 60 minutes in the soggy conditions of Geashill that finished on 0-5 apiece.
In the end it was Bobby Troy's goal in extra time that decided this encounter, after sturdy wing-back Billy Grogan sent a high ball into the St Kevin's square, which Troy latched onto, and the half-forward picked his spot.
The result puts Brigid's into the last four of the province where they will look to reach a coveted Leinster final the next day out.
