Eire Og take fixture logjam in their stride
November 20, 2008
Eire Og won't be blaming their hectic schedule of late if they are beaten by Rhode in Sunday's Leinster club football semi-final at Dr Cullen Park.
The Carlow champions are facing their seventh match in six weeks as they bid to reach the provincial final, having played three county and three provincial games, two of which went to extra-time, since October 12.
But their manager Turlough O'Brien refuses to acknowledge the fatigue factor.
"When you're going well, you don't mind. It's all about playing games and we're certainly getting enough of them at present. But there's no point worrying about it."
If Eire Og beat Rhode on Sunday, they will be in action again on Sunday, December 7 in the Leinster final again Kilmacud Crokes or Navan O'Mahony's. They've already lost Paul Cashin and star forward Simon Rea through injury for this weekend's showdown with the Offaly champions.
