Long-serving London footballer Mark Gottsche has announced his retirement from the inter-county scene.
The former Galway footballer represented the Exiles with distinction for the past nine years and made 73 appearances between league and championship, including this summer's 1-9 to 0-16 defeat to his native county.
The highlight was his 'man-of-the-match' performance in London's famous 1-12 to 0-14 victory over Sligo (which was their first Connacht SFC win since 1977) and he was awarded the GAA's Player of the Month award for May of that year.
