Former Laois hurling All-Star Pat Critchley says the O’Moore men must “consolidate and drive on” after last weekend's historic triumph over Dublin.

Eddie Brennan’s team had been 13/2 underdogs before the showdown in Portlaoise against the capital men and delivered a victory which sees them now take on Tipperary at Croke Park this Sunday for an All-Ireland semi-final spot.

"The adrenalin rush they got last Sunday will carry them through and they'll feed off the atmosphere that's all over Laois this week," Critchley told the Irish Independent.

"Eddie has done a great job helping to give these lads real self-belief. They have the skill and technique, and they'll love the big occasion."

He added: “This can't be seen as a one-off. We have to consolidate and drive on. Hopefully, this will work wonders for every player's self-belief at whatever level he's playing.”
