Erin's Own edged out Ballymartle by 3-7 to 2-8 in a rain-soaked Cork SHC preliminary round clash at Pairc Ui Rinn on Saturday evening.

Eoghan Murphy, Mark Collins and Stephen Horgan scored first half goals as the blue and reds set up a round one clash with Charleville next Saturday. Paul Geary and Jack Dwyer were the Ballymartle goal-scorers, with all five goals coming in the first half.

In the Cork SFC, Ilen Rovers secured their first opening round win in six years at Carbery Rangers' expense. Sean O'Donovan and Tom Bushe hit the net in the first quarter to send them on their way to a 2-9 to 1-9 victory.
