Sligo manager Daithí Hand feels that his side didn’t perform in their HL3B fina extra timel defeat to Longford last weekend.

Played in the Connacht Centre of Excellence, Longford came out on top in an exciting clash, in blustery conditions.

Hand told the Sligo Champion that his charges never played to their potential having hammered the same opposition a week earlier.

“We didn’t perform like we can we know we are better than that,” stated Hand. “We were without Keith Raymond too and everyone was saying that he is such a big loss. He is nursing an injury.

“But we have enough of a panel there and it was great to have the McHughs back for their first game.”

He added: “Look we were missing one or two lads as well, it is disappointing especially as we had prepared as best we could for it, we couldn’t have been better in that regard in terms of where we are at.”
