Fenton, Kilkenny and McCarthy to miss Monaghan opener

‘Footballer of the Year’ Brian Fenton, Ciaran Kilkenny and James McCarthy won’t play any part in the early rounds of Dublin’s league campaign.
The Herald reports that Fenton and his fellow ‘Footballer of the Year’ nominee Kilkenny extended their trip abroad following the All-Ireland winners’ team holiday while McCarthy underwent surgery on a leg injury last November.
Kilmacud Crokes duo Cian O’Sullivan and Paul Mannion may also be rested to allow them fully recover from hamstring injuries.
