Former Offaly star Peter Brady has been appointed manager of Westmeath club Coralstown/Kinnegad.

Brady replaces new Westmeath manager Jack Cooney in the role after being in charge of his native Edenderry last year. Brady was in the twilight of his inter-county career when he won a Leinster SFC medal in 1997, while he also won five Offaly SFC medals with Edenderry.

During his first spell in charge of the Kildare-border club, Brady delivered Dowling Cups in 2011 and 2015, and was regularly linked with the Offaly job. He also led O'Dempsey's to a Laois Division 1 league title in 2017.

Coralstown/Kinnegad, who currently have Ger Leech, Darren Giles and James Maxwell on the Westmeath county panel, will be hoping Brady can oversee an improvement in their fortunes after they lost all of their championship games last year to be relegated to the weaker Group 2 of the SFC.
