The emergence of some new talent gives Clare manager Colm Collins plenty of options heading into the start of the NFL campaign.

Collins was impressed by a number of newcomers in the comfortable win over Waterford in last weekend’s McGrath Cup semi-final.

The win has earned the Banner another competitive game before the start of the league where they will face Cork this Saturday afternoon.

The likes of Dermot Coughlan, Dale Masterson and Jayme O’Sullivan impressed against the Déise and Collins told the Clare Champion that it is great to have options.

“It is very hard over the course of a season to keep everyone healthy, so it is great to have lads that are coming on and pushing for places on the starting XV. Plenty of them have put their hands up so that is great.”

Clare take on Donegal in their opening NFL Division Two clash at Cusack Park on Sunday, January 27th.
