Slaughtneil’s Brendan Rogers is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Rogers damaged ankle ligaments recently and although the injury was not deemed too serious, the dual star is expected to be out of action for a number of weeks.

Slaughtneil are defending their senior hurling and football titles in the county and provincial championships and the loss of Rogers is a huge blow as they bid to defend those titles.

The defending senior football champions take on Eoghan Rua, Coleraine in this year’s SFC quarterfinal, but will have to do so without their experienced full back.

In the other quarter-finals, Ballinascreen meet Greenlough, Lavey v. Loup and Ballinderry v. Glen.
