Emlyn Mulligan is expected to return from his third cruciate knee ligament injury for Leitrim against Waterford next Sunday.

The luckless forward has been sidelined for almost a year, but the Leitrim Observer reports that he has been given the all-clear by medics to return next weekend.

Leitrim manager Brendan Guckian has also welcomed back two other key players in Ronan Kennedy and Paddy Maguire after they opted off the panel due to study and work commitments respectively. With just one win against Limerick in their Allianz League Division 4 campaign to date, the green and golds are out of the promotion reckoning, but the trio's return provides them with a significant boost ahead of their Connacht SFC opener against New York in early May.
