Grief-stricken Crokes share "classy message" from Slaughtneil

Slaughtneil GAC's "true humanity and decency" was demonstrated this week after sending a condolence card to Dr Crokes following the sad death of Amy O'Connor nine days ago.

The Kerry giants defeated Slaughtneil in last year's All-Ireland club SFC final at Croke Park, where the late Amy proudly helped raise the Andy Merrigan Cup with winning captain Johnny Buckley afterwards to mark the Killarney club's second ever triumph in the competition. 

Daughter of Brendan and Triona O'Connor, 11-year-old Amy was a talented underage player with Crokes and with Killarney Celtic before she had become ill.

Crokes shared the message Amy's family and friends had received from the Derry club via their Twitter account earlier today:
