"I will not be making any calls this week"

Donegal manager Declan Bonner during his side's defeat to Galway in Letterkenny

Donegal boss Declan Bonner says he won't be calling on some of his heavy artillery for Saturday night's Allianz League clash with Dublin at Croke Park.

Bonner has been without the services of ace attacker Michael Murphy, Neil McGee, Frank McGlynn and Paddy McGrath for their first two outings in Division 1, with both ending in single point defeats to Kerry and Galway, respectively.

This weekend sees the Tir Chonaill men travelling to headquarters as 9/2 outsiders looking for their first points in the top tier and their manager has confirmed that he won't be rushing any of their injured quartet back for the battle in the capital.

"The process is there in terms of when these guys are due back and some of them are still being held back by injury and, no, I will not be making any calls this week," Bonner told The Irish News.

"The league was always going to be a breeding ground for the championship. The plan is to look at the younger lads and see who can stand up and be counted and, in fairness, there are a number of players who are showing their hand and are playing well.

"Yes, we want to stay in Division 1, absolutely, and we would love to have a couple of points on the board. I felt our displays over the last two weeks deserved something and we are back next Saturday night against Dublin."
