Here's our first championship football team of the week...

1. Robbie Molloy (Carlow)

Carlow suffered a 10 point defeat at the hands of Louth but the margin of defeat would have been greater were it not for some fine saves by Molloy.

2. Mickey Jones (Fermanagh)

Tasked with the job of curbing Brian 'Bam' Neeson's influence, the tight-marking defender didn't let the Ernesiders down.

3. Che Cullen (Fermanagh)

Fermanagh conceded just six points from play against Antrim and Cullen was a vital cog in their defensive set-up.

4. Dean Healy (Wicklow)

Healy and his Wicklow team-mates asked tough questions of Laois but that was of little consolation to them at referee Fergal Kelly's final whistle.

5. Derek Maguire (Louth)

The attacking half-back continued his rich vein of form and made the scoresheet in O'Moore Park with two points.

6. Peter Cunningham (Offaly)

The Faithful County dispatched Longford in impressive fashion and will enter their last eight clash with Westmeath in a confident frame of mind.

7. Joey O'Connor (Offaly)

Raided forward to raise a white flag and also created the opening for Graham Guilfoyle's 10th minute goal.

8. Eoin Donnelly (Fermanagh)

The Fermanagh captain led by example against the Saffrons but quarter-final opponents Donegal will represent a significant step up in class.

9. James Califf (Louth)

The hard-working midfielder got his hands on a lot of ball and kicked five points (two from play) for Colin Kelly's charges.

10. John O'Loughlin (Laois)

The O'Moore County's defensive problems have been well documented but up front O'Loughlin continues to provide his forward colleagues with plenty of ammunition.

11. Niall McNamee (Offaly)

The experienced Rhode star fired over four points as the Faithful County got their championship monkey off their back.

12. Robbie Smyth (Longford)

No finger of blame for the Midlanders defeat can be pointed in the direction of Smyth who finished the O'Connor Park contest with 1-5 (1-3 from play) to his name.

13. Tomas Corrigan (Fermanagh)

Antrim struggled to cope with the diminutive corner-forward and his nine point haul included two sublime sideline kicks.

14. Donie Kingston (Laois)

Wicklow gave Laois plenty of food for thought but a return of 1-6 from the O'Moore County captain saw the hosts over the line.

15. Ryan Burns (Louth)

Enhanced his burgeoning reputation when pick pocketing the Barrowsiders to the tune of 1-7 (five frees).
