A GAA club in Armagh has ensured one of its players who died in a road accident will never be forgotten by inscribing his initials and playing number on their jersey.

'PH6' will appear just below the club crest on the Dromintee jersey as a tribute to Peter Hughes, who was killed in a crash on the A1 dual carriageway between Dromore and Banbridge last August. The 19-year-old's two friends, Gavin Sloan and Conall Havern, also lost their lives in the two-car collision.

The three Queen's University students had been returning home from Belfast after finalising their accommodation for the college year. Peter had represented Dromintee at all levels and had come back from two serious injuries to play for his club and Queen's last year.
