Armagh's Ronan Clarke

Former Armagh All Star Ronan Clarke is said to be seriously ill in hospital after being injured in a club game on Friday night.

BBC Northern Ireland are reporting that the 32-year-old sustained a head injury after colliding with a goalpost while playing for Armagh city club Pearse Og against Maghery in the county senior championship.

Clarke is currently being treated at Craigavon Hospital where his condition was described as "serious but stable."

An All Star forward in 2006 and 2008, Clarke made his inter-county debut for the Orchard men in 2002, helping the county to its first All-Ireland title that season and earning the 'Young Footballer of the Year award' in the process.
